Saturday excursion!

FULL-DAY-EXCURSION TO CAMBRIDGE!!

Hello everyone!!

Sunny weekend is here!! On Saturday we had a full-day-excursion to the beautiful city of Cambridge! The city of Cambridge is a university city and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia, on the River Cam, about 50 miles (80 km) away from London and 58 miles (93 km) from Norwich. Cambridge is the second largest city in Cambridgeshire after Peterborough, and the 54th largest in the United Kingdom. Cambridge is most widely known as the home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209 and consistently ranked one of the top five universities in the world. The university includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. 

When we arrived, Rachel, our activity leader, gave us an orientation tour around the city showing us the main colleges in Cambridge. The colleges are where the university students stay for the entire university course. After that, we were able to visit one of the main colleges there and the biggest one in Cambridge: St. John's College. Here you have lots of pictures of our visit!! There were really interested in this college as some of them had watched the film The theory of everything, about Stephen Hawking's life, and this college was the one where he had studied. 
Finally, we gave them free time so they had lunch and they walked around Cambridge, visiting other popular places, taking lots of pictures and...guess what??? SHOPPING OF COURSE!! 
One week off now... :'( Things seem to go really quickly when having a great time!!

Soleado fin de semana aquí !! El sábado tuvimos una excursion de dia completo a la hermosa ciudad de Cambridge! La ciudad de Cambridge es una ciudad universitaria y la capital del condado de Cambridgeshire, Inglaterra. Se encuentra en East Anglia, en el río Cam, a unos 50 millas (80 km) de distancia de Londres y 58 millas (93 km) de Norwich. Cambridge es la segunda ciudad más grande después de Peterborough Cambridgeshire, y la quincuagesimo cuarta más grande en el Reino Unido. Cambridge es más conocida como el hogar de la Universidad de Cambridge, fundada en 1209 y clasificada como una de las cinco mejores universidades del mundo. Esta universidad incluye el famoso Laboratorio Cavendish, King's College Chapel y la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Cambridge.

Cuando llegamos, Rachel, nuestra activity leader, nos dio un tour por la ciudad mostrandonos los principales colleges de Cambridge. Los colleges son donde los estudiantes universitarios se quedan durante todo el curso. Después de eso, pudimos visitar uno de las principales y el más grande college de Cambridge: St. John's College (San Juan). Aquí teneisun montón de fotos de nuestra visita !! Les parecio realmente interesante este college ya que algunos de ellos habían visto la película La teoría del todo, sobre la vida de Stephen Hawking, y este fue donde el había estudiado.
Por último, se les dio tiempo libre para que almorzaran y pasearan por Cambridge, visitando otros lugares famosos, tomando un montón de fotos y ... ¿adivinad qué? DE COMPRAS POR SUPUESTO !!

Ya ha pasado una semana... : '( Las cosas parecen ir muy rápido al estar pasandolo tan bien!!
